3 Factors to consider when choosing your Suncast Storage Shed.

If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a garden storage shed to tidy away all those tools that seem to have spread throughout the house this winter, then stop what you are doing because you are going to want to read this. We’re going to look at the top three factors you should consider when deciding which storage shed is right for you. For simplicity’s sake we’ve focused on the range of one leading manufacturer – Suncast Storage Sheds, but these tips can be applied to any of your favourite brands.

1)    Bargain basement or Mrs High Roller? (or somewhere in between!)

Lets get down to brass tacks, how much you’ve got to spend is almost certainly going to determine to the style and size of the storage shed you can purchase. The good news is there is going to be a storage shed that meets your needs. The Suncast range starts from as little as $134.99 and don’t forget to check the “Clearance” tab on storage shed websites for last minute sales items that could save you hundreds of dollars. Bear in mind that bigger is usually more expensive so you’ll need to think about the next item on our list…

2)    What needs to be stored?

Spend some time assessing the items you have to be stored and the space that you will require to store them safely. Many storage shed manufacturers offer a range of small, medium and large sizing for storage sheds. If it’s Christmas decorations and some bags of compost then a unit such as the Suncast horizontal plastic storage shedmay be all that is required. However if amongst your garden tools you have some long handled rakes and a set of golf clubs then a Suncast vertical storage shed will be needed. Large items such as lawn tractors will need a full size storage shed.

3)   DIY Disaster or Self-Assembly Pro?

One of the benefits of garden storage shed kits is that they can be easily put up at home. The Suncast storage reviews that we’ve read focus on the ease of assembly thanks to their “snap into place parts.” Depending on the complexity of the design you choose, a storage shed can take 3 – 4 hours to be assembled or 8 hours or more for a team of four. Some models will require foundations to be laid. Most leading manufacturers will have preparation tips on their websites and the tools and man power that will be required for the job. Make sure you’ve checked out these requirements before you purchase.

And finally…

Your storage shed has to fit in with your home and your lifestyle. Make sure you’ve planned out where it’s going to go and the materials and finish that will best complement your backyard or garden. I was thinking about getting a storage shed in our yard to clear up some space in our garage, but wasn’t sure how to choose one. It’s interesting that you say to consider what you are going to be storing in there. It would be nice to be able to store my lawn care things in there, and keep them protected in the process.
