Steel, Vinyl or Resin…Let us help you choose the perfect storage shed.

As the days get longer and the air gets warmer we start to notice the scent of freshly cut grass and thoughts turn to tidying up our own backyard and dusting off the BBQ. A garden shed can be the perfect storage solution for all those tools you’ve had lying around just picking up rust and can also provide an attractive focal point. There are lots of items to consider before you purchase – so first you’ll need to decide how much you have to spend and what you are going to store in it (these decisions will help determine the right size shed that you need) and then, of course, where its going to go in your backyard. Once you’ve established that you’ll need to make a decision on materials – let us help you with an overview of some of the leading brands.

 Arrow Sheds

The Arrow brand is a long established leader of the field that specialises in metal storage sheds and vinyl coated metal sheds. One of the main benefits of this range is that the materials are durable and stay attractive for years without splitting or warping. Sizes are available in small, medium or large with roof tops in: Gable, Sloped, Barn or Mansard. Each garden shed kit comes in a range of different colors that will complement the look of your own backyard. These sheds are easy to assemble and each model comes with information on the man power and assembly time required. Prices start from as little as $500.

Duramax Sheds

If you are looking for a more light weight storage solution then Duramax could be the brand for you. As well as metal storage sheds this leading manufacturer also specialises in vinyl storage sheds that consist of a robust, steel frame clad in single vinyl panels that are slotted in between. The colours are neutral so resistant to fade and no painting or treating is required as the high spec resin vinyl material is UV protected and fire retardant. These sheds are durable and have been designed to withstand winds of up to100 mph. All models come with a 15 year warranty.

Suncast Sheds

This manufacturer has a range of different sized sheds from small, horizontal and vertical sheds that are well equipped to store garden tools and take between 30 mins to an hour to assemble to larger storage sheds with gable styled roofs that will take between 3 – 4 hours of assembly time and require more than 2 people and a selection of basic tools for the job. This brand specialises in heavy duty resin constructions with tough resin floors that provides a durable, high quality finish that is easy to maintain with no painting required. Many of the positive Suncast customer reviews also focus on the DIY “snap in place” technology that makes assembly real easy.

I need to know the actual fire rating of a Duramax vinyl storage shed in order to decide how close we can place it to another building on our church property. All I can find is that it is “fire retardant.” Do you know the actual fire rating?
